About

Hi! I’m Sherry Snyder, a nature-loving graphic designer.

I’m a St. Louis native and have been in the graphic design business for over 13 years helping non-profits and small businesses. I love helping people, animals and my community and I love being creative. I’m always ready for new challenges and opportunities. I’m a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit with extensive experience in print media, web design, social media, marketing, fundraising and IT services with advanced proficiency in design tools and techniques.

My design perspective: I believe in clean, modern, functional designs. Function should always come first.

My business style: I take great care in listening to my clients needs and work to build lasting relationships.

In my free-time, I love birdwatching, biking, and playing video and board games.

My Experience

Director of Web and Graphic Design
Independent Contractor at World Bird Sanctuary from 2008-2020
I began my journey with World Bird Sanctuary in 2008 when I volunteered to create a brochure. Shortly after, I stepped in to develop a new website when the company that had volunteered backed out. I retired the World Bird Sanctuary’s AOL email addresses and implemented Google Suites. I created several new brochures, banners and signage. I created an updated logo that’s still copyrighted today. I drew up a new site map along with a brochure and poster. I created several campaign, event and education materials. I gave World Bird Sanctuary’s Facebook page the ability to fundraise. I even launched several of my own fundraisers, which included t-shirt designs and promotion.

For their Falcon Cam (a seasonal live feed on a Peregrine Falcon nest), I set up a Twitter page, monitored the live feed and took screenshots and videos to post to get the public excited. I retired their paypal buttons for donations and online sales and built the Square Store from scratch (setting up the entire eStore). I researched and implemented the Volgisitics Volunteer software that is still used today and trained others to use it. I rebuilt their Adopt-A-Bird program (including the certificate and biography designs) and increased the volume of adoptions for consecutive years.

In 2016, I created another new website (the one you see today) that was more tech savvy for the tablet and mobile phone world and set up their SSL certificate.

I volunteered for 10 years at the Wildlife Hospital, became a mentor and teacher and helped build the rescue team. I even made World Bird newsworthy by following the rehabilitation of an owl rescued by local police and then involving them and the media in its release.

I also received the World Bird Sanctuary’s Condor Award for my contributions and service.
